THE CREW
The Crew
A trusted offshore operation requires experienced operators. This is the team that runs OPPORTUNATY — in real conditions, day after day.
Offshore Is A Team Effort
Lewis
Owner - Responsible for the operation. Not the optics.
For anyone trying to figure out who Lewis Jones is, the answer usually depends on how long you’ve known him.
Lewis leads OPPORTUNATY’s offshore operations year-round, operating vessels, navigating conditions, and coordinating global programs. His focus is on process over performance — operating offshore regardless of guests.
To some, he’s a golfer. To others, a fisherman. To many, a relentless business man who refuses to do anything by halves. And to just about everyone who’s spent more than five minutes with him, he’s the most spontaneous person in the room—equally likely to take the mick out of you as he is to wake up on New Year’s Day and decide to fly halfway across the world a few hours later because fishing suddenly feels like the correct use of his time.
Lewis Jones was born in Inverness and grew up in Grantown-on-Spey, in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Surrounded by mountains, rivers, and some of the finest sporting landscapes in the world, it didn’t take long for Lewis to develop an appetite for the outdoors—and for competition.
That competitive mindset came directly from his father, Lewis’s idol and greatest influence. A member of the British Ski Team and a strong golfer, his father introduced him early to skiing and golf. As Lewis grew older, his father added another passion to the mix—Scottish salmon fishing. On the riverbanks of Scotland, Lewis learned patience, focus, and restraint—skills he would otherwise show very little evidence of possessing.
Tragically, Lewis lost his father at just seven years old. While the loss was life-changing, the lessons remained. Rather than fading, Lewis’s love for skiing, golf, and fishing only intensified, becoming both a tribute to his father and the foundation of everything that followed. Those early years shaped a personality that is fiercely competitive, deeply loyal, and permanently operating at full speed.
By the time Lewis reached adulthood, it was obvious his future would involve sport in some form. At 18, he moved to France, working in a golf pro shop and learning the industry from the ground up. During this time, he was accepted by the École du Ski Français (ESF), proving he could have taken the sensible route of becoming a ski instructor—before, very on-brand, deciding not to. While in France, Lewis was also unknowingly setting up his future, learning the fundamentals of e-commerce while surrounded by golf.
After travelling and living across Europe for a decade, Lewis moved to Ireland, where Druids Golf was born. What followed was anything but glamorous. Built on long hours, relentless pressure, blood, sweat, and more than a few moments of self-doubt, Druids grew into an international golf brand selling across the world. The driving force was always the same obsessive competitiveness that refuses to settle for “good enough.” Twelve years on, Druids stands as proof that stubbornness, humour, and sheer refusal to fail can actually be turned into a business model.
As Druids grew and life allowed more freedom, another obsession took over—sport fishing. What started as curiosity rapidly escalated into full-blown addiction. Lewis fished wherever and whenever he could, from the Caribbean to the Indian Ocean, chasing everything from big game species to bluefin tuna off the coast of Spain. Planning has never been his strength; instinct and opportunity are far more persuasive. Sitting still has never been his strong point either—unless there’s a rod in his hands and a fish at the other end.
Once Druids became successful enough to allow it, Lewis did what any rational person would do—he bought a fishing boat before he even had his skipper’s licence. In 2021, his first boat was delivered to Spain, where Lewis jumped straight into the bluefin season, learning on the job as an inexperienced skipper with no shortage of confidence. From Spain, the boat moved to Dubai, where he fished Fujairah for a year, before relocating again to Mauritius. Few boats—and even fewer owners—can claim a travel record like that. By most measures, it may genuinely be the best-travelled fishing boat in the world.
Today, Lewis remains CEO of Druids Golf, although he insists on describing himself as “semi-retired,” a statement usually met with laughter by those who know him well who have branded him “Birds Eye”. His focus now is fishing, adventure, and pushing himself yet again in a field where losing is unacceptable. He is relentlessly competitive, completely incapable of half-measures, wildly impatient in everyday life, unable to sit still for long, yet perfectly content to wait hour after hour for a fish to bite—proof that passion can override even the most obvious personality flaws.
Alongside business and sport, Lewis believes strongly in giving back to the communities that shaped him. Through charity golf days, fishing events, and quiet support behind the scenes, he contributes to youth sport and outdoor access initiatives, helping young people find confidence, discipline, and purpose through sport. He firmly believes that sport can change the trajectory of a life—because it changed his.
At his core, Lewis Jones is driven by passion, fuelled by competition, guided by instinct, and held together by humour. Whether building an international brand, flying across the world on a whim, pacing while everyone else sits still, waiting patiently for a fish while being impatient about absolutely everything else, or taking the mick out of anyone within range, he lives by a simple rule: go all in, enjoy the madness, and never miss a fishing opportunity—no matter how little notice you give yourself.
Stuart
Captain - Leads when conditions decide.
If you ask Stuart Blesovsky who he is, he’ll give you a very simple answer: fisherman.
Stuart leads offshore operations from the helm, making real-time decisions when conditions, distance, and timing matter most.
Everything else—skipper, fleet manager, competitor, traveller, occasional troublemaker—is just detail around that one central fact.
Stuart was born in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and grew up on the KZN North Coast in Salt Rock, back when the town had more fishing spots than traffic lights. From as early as he can remember, life revolved around the ocean. Fishing, surfing, spearfishing, free diving—if it involved saltwater, he was there. School was something to fit in between tides, and any opportunity to trade a classroom for a day on the water was taken without hesitation.
The obsession started at home. His father was a die-hard fisherman who passed the addiction straight down the line, with Stuart’s older brother helping to make sure there was no chance of him turning out normal. By the time he was 16, Stuart had already decided that a conventional career wasn’t on the cards. He didn’t want to work around fishing—he wanted to build a life out of it.
And somehow, against all sensible advice, he did.
What followed was years of learning the trade the hard way. Charter boats, commercial operations, private sportfishing, guiding, tournaments—Stuart worked his way through every corner of the industry. His career took him across East Africa, Dubai, Mozambique and eventually Mauritius, building experience, reputation and a serious amount of sea time along the way.
Competitive fishing became a major part of the journey. Stuart represented KwaZulu-Natal and South Africa in numerous national tournaments, collecting more than a few wins in the process. On the international stage he captained the UAE team at the Offshore World Championship in Costa Rica—one of the proudest moments of a career spent chasing fish around the globe.
Today, Stuart is based in Mauritius as Senior Captain and Fleet Manager for Opportunity, where he oversees operations and spends most of his time doing what he does best—putting boats on fish. On the water he’s known for being calm, focused and highly effective, with an instinct for reading conditions that only comes from a lifetime at sea.
Away from work, very little changes. The ocean still dictates everything. Free diving, spearfishing, surfing, kayak fishing, wakeboarding—if it floats, dives or rides a wave, Stuart is interested. He also spends significant time along the Mozambique coastline, where he owns a home and operates a fishing charter company, making sure he always has a reason to be exactly where he wants to be.
Driven, passionate and permanently in search of the next adventure, Stuart has managed to turn a childhood obsession into a full-time way of life. And while most people spend their days trying to escape the office, he solved that problem years ago.
For him, the plan has never really changed:
be on the water, find the fish, and repeat.
